Abstract:
We have analysed the efficiency in source detection and flux density
estimation of blind and non-blind detection techniques exploiting the
MHW2 filter applied to the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP)
5-yr maps. A comparison with the AT20G bright source sample, with a
completeness limit of 0.5Jy and accurate flux measurements at 20GHz,
close to the lowest frequency of WMAP maps, has allowed us to assess
the completeness and the reliability of the samples detected with the
two approaches, as well as the accuracy of flux and error estimates,
and their variations across the sky.

Description:
The NEWPS catalogue have been obtained by combining blind and
non-blind detections performed with the MHW2 filter on the 5-year
Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) total intensity maps at
23, 33, 41, and 61GHz. According to the SNR ratio that have been used
to select the objects we have generated a SNR>5 catalogue. A further
selection have been applied according to the noise in the source
position being smaller than 1.5 times median noise in the map as
described by Massardi et al. (2008, Cat. J/MNRAS/384/775) that
generated the catalogue that counts 516 sources. These sources have
been queried in the Nasa Exragalactic Database (NED) for an
identification in other catalogues and a value of redshift.

A more detailed description is provided in the paper and at the NEWPS
website at http://max.ifca.unican.es/caniego/NEWPS/ where all data
products, and updates were released as soon as they were produced and
    verified.
